 Al-Anon offers a wide selection of literature covering topics relating to people affected by someone else's drinking. Pamphlets and books explain how the program works and how helps friends and families of alcoholics.

The quickest way to get Al-Anon literature is at an Al-Anon Family Group meeting. District 11 Al-Anon and Alateen meetings offer a free complimentary literature packet to newcomers attending their first Al-Anon meeting.

Conference-Approved Literature

Al-Anon /Alateen conference approved literature: daily readers, books, and pamphlets are published by the Al-Anon World Services. Conference Approval is a World Service Conference process for the development of Al-Anon literature that reflects the group conscience of the Al-Anon Family Groups. Almost all of the writing is from by Al-Anon/Alateen members who share their experience, strength and hope while expressing Al-Anon/Alateen principles.

Hope and Understanding for Parents and Grandparents (P-94) This pamphlet includes a description of the challenges facing parents and grandparents of young problem drinkers, as well as a wide variety of inspirational stories. It also includes a section on how parents and grandparents apply the Twelve Steps. 24 pages.
